Starting on the interior walls

It was finally time to start the process that the instructions didn't include. They plans showed where each wall should go and it was easy to mark on the floor for each wall. This is also where we found out how far the foundation was out of level. There was not much we could do about it at this point but to make adjustments to each wall stud. The first wall we put up was the kitchen wall between the dining room, I used wood studs for strength for the cabinets. I wish I could have used that more on the exterior walls in certain places. During this time, the price of wood had risen where a 2x4 was over $8, so the metal studs that the kit came with was worth it.

This is the stage we figured out that there was a mistake in the plumbing. The vent pipe for the bathrooms was set 8 inches into the living room. We ended up building a false wall in the master bath by 12 inches and extending the guest bathroom by 12 inches. We ended up using this as a place for the water filter system and the tankless water heater.

We still have no power in the house, so we had to use a 100 foot extension cord from the log cabin to the house for lights and power tools.

The tub had to be installed before the walls as it would not fit through any door.

The wooden studs for the kitchen wall, I wish I would have gone with 16 inch centers and added studs to the other kitchen wall to secure the cabinets - live and learn.
